Volunteers have a profound influence on Carlow University. Their work is essential to ensure a strong and healthy future of the institution. Whether it’s spending two or three minutes signing up online as a mentor or working with Carlow’s Office of Alumnae/i Relations to plan an event, our volunteers are unwavering in their continued support of our programs. Without their time, these events would not be successful.
We want to thank all of our volunteers for their generous commitment of time. Every minute you give adds to successful, sustainable, and enriching events and programs here at Carlow University.

CLASS REPRESENTATIVES NEEDED
Do you like connecting with people? Why not connect with your classmates - reach out to them - encourage them to attend events and get involved. Keep them informed with the happenings at Carlow. We need your help!
Consider serving as a class representative. This is a one-year term from July 1, 2011 until June 30, 2012, with the opportunity to renew the position next year. This is a vital volunteer position in the Alumnae/i Association, bridging communication between your classmates and the Carlow community.
If you accept this position, we ask that you plan to attend the Board Retreat held at the Frances Warde Hall in July. At that time you will receive a formal orientation of your duties as a class representative and meet the board of directors, including your decade rep, who represents you and your classmates on the Board. You will also have the opportunity to attend a leadership development workshop that will teach you skills both for your position in the Association and in your personal life.
In addition to the opportunity to attend this leadership development workshop free of charge, you will also be privy to exciting dialogues with our senior leadership at Carlow and take an active role in the planning of the direction for the future of the Carlow and society.
As Class Representatives, you are asked to:
Engage alumnae/i to participate in the Association, advocate and promote Carlow University, maintain Communication with classmates, collect updated contact information from alumnae/i (especially e-mail addresses), attend and work on the Reunion Committee if it is your reunion year or the following year, attend Decade/Class Rep meetings, attend board retreat orientation, invited to attend quarterly board meeting, do committee 'homework' between meetings, make an annual gift to the Carlow Annual Fund to allow 100% Class Representative participation, attend one regional event per year and will support, whenever possible, all ongoing activities and events of the Alumnae/i Association
As class representatives, you are welcome to attend all board meetings and expected to communicate with your Decade Representative throughout the year in addition to the expectations outlined above. Class representatives are appointed positions and not elected by the Association. As such, class reps do not have voting rights.
